The SCAD Casting Office

Every senior and graduate level film and television major at the Savannah College of Art and Design must make a thesis film before they graduate. It is the job of the SCAD Casting Office to cast these films.

As co-head of the office, it is my job to lead our team of 22 highly motivated interns from the beginning of the audition process to the end. One intern can sometimes be working on as many as 3 thesis films at once.

In the 2025-2026 school year, we cast a whopping 56 films.

This number doesn't even include the passion projects that our interns cast outside of the office. Additionally, we collaborate with professional projects when they come to film in Savannah, Georgia if they'd like to audition our students.

About

I'm a junior at SCAD, studying film and television with a minor in casting, based in Savannah, Georgia. I'm drawn to casting because I like seeing the potential in people. Having a mother who works in psychology, I try to see past the nervous first impression that is so often present in an audition room. Finding the right people to tell stories with is the part of filmmaking that is only recently being recognized, and I want to be part of the generation that expands on that. After years spent collaborating with both actors and directors, next summer I'm ready to bring that experience into a professional casting office.

Selected work

Short film

Vanimation

This is the first short film I ever made. I wanted to be ambitious with it and attempt a mockumentary. Being director, writer, producer, and editor was a daunting task but it's one I'm glad I was able to take on.

Music video

Once I Was a Good Girl

Associate producer and background casting. Managed crew deal memos and production paperwork while coordinating all background talent.

Chickasaw Nation, Multimedia Internship, Summer 2026

Himak Nitak & The Chickasaw News Segment

As a member of the Chickasaw Nation, I'm spending this summer as a Multimedia Intern in Ada, Oklahoma (my tribe's headquarters), producing both informative and entertaining content from development to editing. My twin Ainsley, who is also an intern, and I are producing two original projects: Himak Nitak (Chickasaw for "present day"), a podcast about growing up indigenous and what indigenous people are doing in the present, and a comedic Chickasaw News Segment made in collaboration with the Toksali SMART summer youth program. We are collaborating with them to give young Chickasaw students production experience on smaller scale sets so that when they graduate, they can succeed professionally in film.

In production, Summer 2026

In development

Original Projects

Currently developing How It Was (short film), Flower Girls (animated short), Ideal Candidate (short film), and Scare Tactics, a series in which I play a lead role and contribute as a writer. Casting, writing, and producing across several of these projects.
